FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS It has long been known by fund-raisers that people contribute according to their interests, and not according to their means, (Of course, having the means makes it a great deal easier to develop an interest!) We firmly believe that the Association will be adequately financed after we are “up and running”. However, just getting off the ground has its costs. Our volunteers are working hard at finding all the Alumni we can, but getting the word out to them involves expense, including printing and distributing our newsletters. We hope to get out several before the “gathering” in October 2005. It is a goal of the Finance Committee that no TEHS Alumni should be excluded from the Alumni Association or any of its activities for financial reasons. As a result, we are hoping to be able to “fund” our activities as well as our “gathering” with contributions rather dues or admission fees or subscriptions. This means, quite obviously, that we are depending on some to contribute more than they expect to receive. If you attended T.E.H.S., you are automatically a Member of our Association. However, we have established several “levels” of Membership together with some ways in which to recognize those whose contributions reach these levels. Anyone who can contribute $25.00 or more will receive a handsome TEHS Lapel Pin and become a member of our “Bulldog Club”. Those who contribute $100.00 or more will become members of our “Century Club” and be recognized in future newsletters. Those who contribute $250.00 or more will become ”Sponsors” and be recognized, in addition to the newsletters, in the Program for the “gathering”. Finally, those who contribute $500.00 or more will become “Founders” and, in addition to the above, have their names engraved on a plaque recognizing the Founders and to be displayed permanently at Conestoga High. “Sponsors” and “Founders’ will also receive an appropriate gift in the form of a paperweight bearing the TEHS Logo (Lamp of Knowledge) or a framed print of the old High School Building. Contributions are cumulative, meaning that any contributions you make in the future will be added to the one you make today in determining your Membership Level. In the event you are married to a TEHS Alumni, both husband and wife will be recognized at the same level, without having to contribute separately. We hope that you will recognize the importance of this undertaking and consider your contribution carefully, bearing in mind that there may be some who cannot afford to contribute. Please make your contribution check payable to T,E.H.S. Alumni Association and send it to: T,E.H.S. Alumni Association Tredyffrin-Easttown School District c/o Conestoga High School 200 Irish Road Berwyn, PA 19312 You'll feel better - and so will we! |
