Hello Everyone,

 

We are entering our third year as TEHS Alumni Association, have had two wonderfully successful and enjoyable All-Alumni-Gatherings with plans underway for a third, and have proudly hosted them with funds so generously contributed by TEHS Alumni. All Alumni for whom we have addresses, who graduated up to and including 1957, have been invited, and receive our newsletters on a regular basis. These 1957 graduates, however, represent the last class that attended TEHS.

 

This brings into question, “Where do we go from here?” It has always been our hope that we would, at this point, open our organization to the Conestoga High School graduating class of 1958, which of course would necessitate changing our name from TEHS Alumni Association to Tredyffrin Easttown School District Alumni Association (TESDAA). We have also hoped that each year thereafter, the graduating classes of 1959, 1960, etc. would be invited into our membership. To include all Conestoga graduates would, at this point, be an impossible undertaking considering 50 years of graduates would not only be unmanageable for our volunteer work force, but would not lend itself to our original mission for which our members so generously contributed their dollars.

 

We are most agreeable to being a part of the larger Tredyffrin Easttown School District Alumni Association, as long as we can maintain our identity as TEHS Graduates, continue to plan All-Alumni Gatherings and publish newsletters as we have worked hard to do thus far. We do, of course, recognize that broadening our organization to include CHS grads is the only way our Association will be able to function in the future considering the fact that our current membership dwindles a bit each year.

 

Our Steering Committee met recently with some Conestoga Alumni and agreed that the process of CHS classes joining TESDAA one year at a time is workable and desirable. This will assure continuance of our organization into the years ahead. We will work toward including the CHS 1958 graduates in our database, will look forward to inviting them to our 2007 All Alumni Gathering to see what we’re all about and will officially welcome them at our 2008 All-Alumni Gathering.

 

In the meantime, please pass on suggestions for our 2007 Gathering, which will be held the first weekend in October 2007.
